It's getting cold here in Gunnison, we've had teens and single digits at night already. It seems like last year it stayed warm until Thanksgiving! We're used to it by now. Mike has been diligently gathering firewood with his new Stihl chainsaw, we have about 6 cords. We burned 5 last winter. We have also been trying to get the last of our summer activities in, Mike with mountain biking and me with rock climbing. It's a bummer we don't get to go out and do stuff together, I'm sure Harlan will be able to go with us more often next summer. He's been riding around in his bike trailer lately and he seems to enjoy it. He'll be 7 months November 3rd, I'll be 23 November 8th! My new graphic design job is awesome, I get to work in my pajamas. School is going well too, I'm only taking 2 classes. We are getting really excited for Harlan's first Thanksgiving and Christmas, even though I've heard babies are more excited about wrapping paper than presents.
My parents are getting ready to start their big panamanian adventure, you can follow along on my dads blog: http://funkydishrag.com/bubbachuck/
He has lots of neat pictures up.
Harlan is going to be a lion for halloween, so check back for pictures in about a week! We hope everyone is doing well!

This little piggy went to the market...
I've had my hands full with my new job and school, so i haven't had much time to update lately. our 5 month old Harlan is eating rice cereal twice a day and he loves it! It's easy to tell he feels pretty grown up. My grandparents are coming in from Iowa on the 19th, along with my brother(his 24th bday) and my parents. Should be a nice weekend, hope everyone brings their sweaters. its been freezing at night, my garden is going downhill. not that it was much to brag about in the first place!

East Coast Visit

We just got back from Maryland where we hung out with Mike's family and friends for a week. Harlan met Grady, his "brother from another mother." They were born on the same day, and even came in alphabetical order. Grady's dad is Thomas, Mike's best friend. Harlan was in a bad mood when they met, but it made for some funny pictures. We went wakeboarding in Pennsylvania, gambling in West Virginia, and had lots of great food in Frederick. Harlan enjoyed meeting his second cousin Sabina, she read him a few books. It's good to be back in Gunnison though, it's much cooler here (temperature that is). Harlan laughed for the first time this morning when Mike was tickling him, and we got a free stroller and some cool shades at a garage sale. He's almost 4 months old already!

Digital is Overrated
This roll was shot using some old European camera my dad let me use for my photography class. I'm still learning so some of it is underexposed, out of focus, etc. Now Harlan is 2 months old and 13 lbs! He smiles a lot and he's starting to coo. Mike and I recently planted 2 vegetable gardens, we already have rhubarb, lettuce and beets coming up. Still waiting for carrots, potatoes, zucchini, squash and pumpkins. The weather has been beautiful but we could use more rain. Grandpa and Grandma Barnes were in town for Memorial Day weekend; we barbecued and drove up to Taylor Reservoir. My brother, Alex, came in from Durango a few days later and Harlan got to meet his only uncle! I think he'll do a good job.
This one is my favorite, he's smiling at Dad
Baby Blue Eyes
Uncle Alex, the trees are blooming!
